This is a topic that has been on my mind often, as I recently was voted in as the President of a local Non-Profit Corporation. I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of the organization, and have a passion to see our impact grow exponentially within the context of limited resources.
I have followed up with others in similar positions to hear their words of wisdom and discover lessons learnt. I spent hours reading articles and watching video clips online, looking for little tidbits of knowledge that could be applied.
I thought perhaps, I should share some of the content (in particular, the TED Talks) which I found to best capture the theme of the feedback I received. A couple overarching points come to mind:
Never underestimate the power of Marketing
Strategically invest money, in order to multiply returns and impact
Know your mission, and use revenue from other supplementary profit making activities to achieve it
Do you have a suggestion for, or experiences with Non-Profit management?
Please share below, and let the discussion begin!
